The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Society of Canada is pleased to announce that its 25th Annual Conference will be held in Windsor, ON, Canada, from Sunday, June 18, 2017 until Tuesday, June 20, 2017.

Advances in CFD technology and computing power have made CFD an attractive analysis and design tool for many industries. As the technology matures, it has become increasingly important that all sectors of the CFD community work together to meet the new challenges ahead. The Conference will encourage and promote collaborative research by bringing together CFD experts from academe, government and industry to discuss current and future issues in the development and application of CFD. Contributions from all sectors are solicited, across the full spectrum of CFD research and applications including, but not restricted to:

  • Automotive
  • Aerospace
  • Aero-acoustics
  • Algorithms
  • Atmospheric and Environmental Flows
  • Bio-fluid Mechanics
  • Combustion
  • Fluid-Structure Interactions
  • Free Surface Flows
  • Heat and Mass Transfer
  • Industrial Applications
  • Multi-phase Flows
  • Non-Newtonian Flows
  • Turbulence Modeling

CFD2017 will be held at the Ed Lumley Centre for Engineering Innovation at the University of Windsor, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The University campus is easily accessible from Windsor Airport as well as Detroit Metro Airport. Participants coming from the USA can enter Canada either via the Ambassador Bridge or the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel.

Arrangements have been made with several downtown hotels to offer a special rate to delegates. On-campus accommodation will also be available at the University of Windsor. The University is about a 30 minute walk from the downtown area, and is on a direct bus route. Information on bookings will be available on the CFD2017 conference website.

  • 4 Keynote lectures (speakers TBA)
  • Special sessions on CFD in automotive, aerospace and civil engineering
  • Hardware and software vendor exhibits
  • Student paper competition
  • Panel discussion on future needs for CFD
  • Panel discussion on CFD education
  • Reception and banquet

Papers will be accepted on the basis of reviewed extended abstracts. Abstracts should be 4-6 pages in length, including figures, tables and references. Deadline for submission of abstracts is March 10, 2017. Format must follow the conference abstract template, (click here to download word template and here for LaTex template), which are also available by email request or download from the Conference website (see contact information below). Both Word and LaTex templates are available.
